New training supported by the ICOM Special Project Grant: Museum Reputation is Vital for the Future of Museums Highlights, Projects

INTERCOM and partners have started the project with a first training in Zadar, Croatia, 19 – 21 May 2025, supported by the hosting museums and the National Ministry of Culture and Media.

Distinguished experts will give examples of how museums find ways to connect with their communities and build trust in a fragmented, high-pressure social and environmental landscape.

The program features discussions, panels, on-site surveys, and an engaging interactive training.  International marketing specialist James Heaton of Tronvig, New York, will lead the workshop “Reputation with Purpose: Branding as a Leadership Tool for Museums in a Changing Europe.”

Initiative partners include ICOM Croatia, INTERCOM, ICLCM, ICOM BiH, ICOM SEE, Fondazione Museii Civici Venezia, and the Museum of Ancient Glass. A special focus will be given to advocating sustainability in tourism-burdened places like Zadar, Mostar and Venice, since specific circumstances create different challenges for the local population.
