CONFERENCE ON MANAGEMENT OF MUSEUMS AND MONUMENTS

New realities bring new demands, and the heritage sector is not spared. Therefore, ICOM Portugal initiated an international conference how to introduce new models of managing sites. It will take place in a unique monument of culture – Monastery of Arouca, about 60 km from Porto.

All stakeholders keep looking for new approaches and solutions so it will be an excellent experience to exchange expertise and open discussions among professionals how to choose good management models. INTERCOM recent global research and regional forums showed how global pandemics brought a lot of changes in the way museums are led. Not only because of the impact of the COVID-19 change but also because other important issues have come to light. INTERCOM explores how leadership actions and managerial tools can help museums directors in running their institution. Preservation and maintenance of monuments often goes hand in hand with regular museum work. INTERCOM Chair Goranka Horjan is a keynote at the conference.
