With ICOM SEE as the main applicant INTERCOM takes part in the project Effective museum leadership in mitigating risks in conflicts and crisis which was jointly developed as a Solidarity Project and won ICOM grant in 2023. The directors’ forum in Rabat, Morocco joins expertise of two regional alliances – ICOM SEE and ICOM Arab and deals with the role of museum leaders during big crises. The focus is on  Crisis management in Earthquake Disasters having in mind recent experiences in Croatia, Turkey and Morocco. The  as a hosting institution.  The chair of INTERCOM Goranka Horjan, will deliver the keynote presentation What to do when the disaster really happens? How to test the plans, create a proper response, and deal with consequences?which will be followed by three-partite workshop. Breakout rooms on three different subjects will be created with selected titles:

1. Crisis preparedness: What you can do in the museum?
2. The efficient response: How can your founders help you?
3. Reconstruction and refurbishment: How to go back to normal?

INTERCOM Board member Martha Ikabongo will took about Crisis management in Zambia.

The meeting will gather museum leaders from both regions and discussions and exchanges will be summed up in conclusions.
