PROJECT PARTNER MEETING AT THE MUSEO CORRER IN VENICE Conferences, Highlights, Projects

Representatives of the partners in the project Museum Reputation as a Leadership Tool funded by the ICOM Special Project Grant met in Venice on 7 – 8 October to discuss final steps in the project. The meeting started with Mattia Agnetti’s welcome address at the Fondazione main premises in Venecia. The host organization’s department MUVE Academy is devoted to training and programs such as the activities in the project Museum Reputation as a Leadership Tool. Fondazione tries to connect as much as possible with other museums and institutions, giving help and support, but also to exchange ideas both in Italy as well as in Europe or throughout the world. Fondazione also supports being part on projects like this, but also to plan joint programs with other institutions, including temporary exhibitions. The foundation is a network of 11 museums founded by the City of Venice and located in, the city centre of Venice and in the Lagoon Islands.
The main decisions were made how to compose a manual on museum reputation which was planned for the end of the project. The partners suggested that a short version should be available on the web and promoted via the printed postcard with QR code during the ICOM Dubai Conference while more contents can be added later. The survey results bring a lot of data but it is difficult to present them all so putting the results in the form of Appendix may be a good solution. The publication will start with the introduction of the project and then presenting the results of workshops training in Zadar in Trebinje and some case-studies from panellists. Jadran Antolović and Goranka Horjan explained how survey results can be compared and INTERCOM Secretary Cristina Vannini proposed a model for presenting the results. James Heaton and Cecilia Martin gave their feedback and Pietroluigi Genovesi and Adriano Rigoli will send their contributions and Goranka Horjan will edit the contents and prepare them for proof-reading and sent for design. Matija Dronjić suggested design options for the publication and possible visuals were discussed. The partners decided to extend the survey on Italian museums and some ICOM SEE partner museums. Besides Dubai the contents of the project will be also disseminated in Florence among the museums belonging to the Houses of Memory and at the annual meeting of ICOM SEE in Ljubljana in December 2025.
